Thank You

Many, many thanks to all the members of Ful-On Tri (the best Triathlon club in London!) for all their support - we are so grateful to you!

Many thanks to The John Breslin Show on Highland Radio for featuring our cycle on Thursday morning. It was a lovely piece - we have a recording of it and will post it shortly. Highland Radio has the highest market share of any local station in Ireland and is the most successful local radio station in Europe.

To all the relatives, friends and kind sponsors of our 15 brave cyclists, updates will be posted every day of the cycle both here and on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/stjoesgaalondon.

We are so proud of our cyclists! Please keep the donations coming. We cannot underestimate how grateful we are for every penny or cent donated.

Time to get a couple of hours sleep before we meet at Ruislip at 8.30am! We’re all set!

Supplies for Day 1!

Overwhelmed by People’s Kindness & Generosity

We’re just blown away by the support and comments that we’re getting. Here are just some examples of amazing support that we received today:

Hi Shane
Well done on undertaking such a great effort. I thought you might like to take a look at this www.stuartmangan.org website. I ran the marathon to raise funds for Stuart’s care back in 2009. Unfortunately, Stuart’s break was at C2 and he needed a ventilator and he died in Aug 09 following an infection due to the ventilator.
Although this was a very sad outcome for Stuart and his family, I thought the website might be helpful in terms of how the family move forward in raising funds etc. He was an amazing guy who really coped well with his new life circumstances considering what had happened and how active and full his life was before the accident. BBC3 made a programme about him and there is stuff linked into YouTube from the website.
There are also contact details there, which I am sure Brian or his family could use if they wanted to speak to people who have gone through this. The Mangans are a lovely family.
I am happy to pledge you £250 for your cycle.
Good luck and well done for doing such a great thing to help him.
Cheers

Hi Shane
Amazing.
£20 from me and any chocolates you want for the team. How about a couple box of Lindor filled eggs? I am assuming you have a support crew with you?
What an amazing thing to do for such a lovely cause.
Do you want coverage? I could try to get something in the British News Round up on Cycling Weekly website?

Micheal Harrington sent you $20.00 AUD
Good man Mick, you must have improved the fitness levels since your Edinburgh days.

Kenneth Frain sent you £50.00
Best of luck with the cycle. Extremely impressive goal and wish Brain all the best. I won’t be home in Ballagh for Easter but wish everyone a safe journey. Kenneth

€200 donated by Mark McNulty’s uncle, Conor McMenamin, to Mark & Shane.

Many thanks to everyone in Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club for donating so generously this evening to Mark.

We have emails coming from Australia, New York, Kansas, Madrid, everywhere. People are amazing. Please keep the donations coming. Our cyclists are by no means ‘cyclists’; they are footballers first and foremost and are training hard for this very worthy cause. In order to take part, most of the cyclists are taking a week’s unpaid leave from work.

Thank you so very much.

Sponsorship

A beautiful message that we received with a very generous donation via PayPal:
Wishing you all the best of luck with this great cycle. Ye guys should walk with your head held high after this. If I was at home in Roscommon for Easter there would be no doubt I would be there to support ye all and have a drink with ye. Mon ye all can do it.

Thank you so much; it is very much appreciated. Sponsorship can be made in person to any cyclist or via our dedicated PayPal account. If you already have a PayPal account, please login as usual, or set-up an account by following the screenshot below. Our email address is secretary.stjosephs.london@gaa.ie.
